Healthy, restoring, and quick to make meals in medical school!

So pretty much Italian cooking is getting me through my rotation thus far: it's always a treat and pretty much restores me after a long day.

I'll buy tortelloni, fettucine, pasta, French/Italian bread, pesto (it's amazing having some around!), and it takes like probably 8 minutes max to make something that really fills you and gives you a sense of feeling well and healthy.

Also, I like to make kofta, which is a Mediterranean/Middle Eastern dish.   (The pronunciation/Romanization changes depending on the region) It's basically ground beef meatballs or shaped to be flat.  Then I throw them in pita pocket bread or any flatbread, add salad (it's really the only way I can stand it, agh), hummus, and bam, delicious goodness.

As far as hummus goes, Sabra, and Cedar's are good brands, more so than Athenos which I think is a little too powerful/pungent.  Cedar's  is pretty smooth and so is Sabra in comparison, and the flavours balance right.

Also, it's really quick to make your own falafel.  I'm still getting the art down, but it's great for a quick bite.

See?  Being healthy and eating awesome things when you're busy is possible!
