getting the hang of it: Medicine Rotation

Medicine rotation so far has been an interesting one.  I had the first-week confusion/struggle, the second-week "so far so good," then felt like I was getting my bearings all over again in this third week.  Medicine is a really busy service, especially when you're taking care older adults.  I personally feel like I'm struggling a little, and hope my effort is recognized by my superiors.  I feel like everyone assumes/expects you to have everything from basic sciences available from memory via instant recall, and that anything less than that isn't good enough.

It's rough, but I'm staying positive.  I'm likely going to be at the hospital somewhere between 5am and 6am in the morning.

On the upside, I think I've just figured out how to start studying for my rotation.  Pocket Medicine is really useful and I'm currently trying First Aid Step 2 CK, and will get around to Step Up to Medicine soon.  I have issues with Step Up but more on that later.

Just wanted to write about my day a little.   all the best, readers.
