Tips for first years: Renal physiology

Welcome to my series called Tips for First Years: where I share knowledge I wish I knew beforehand or learned just in the nick of time.  Renal is kind of a beast, so I'd suggest making a table of where all the solutes/water get reabsorbed and where diuretics act, and try to fill in a blank one from memory.

Also, the interwebz helped me understand countercurrent exchange, and none other than Youtube did it.  If you're a visual learner like me, it helps a whole lot, especially with all the loops of Henle madness and medullary hoozits.  Seeing the countercurrent exchange work in animation is way better than any diagram or text explanation.  I hope that helps, and remember, renal is conquerable!
