Lately I've been listening to a ton of Voxtrot, and as someone whose spent years in Austin, I feel a little weird for just now discovering them. Their song "Wrecking Force" just really touches something in my soul, and I love it when music does that. It's just one of those songs that gives your life a huge boost when you listen to it. They're from Austin, and the quality of their music as well as their success makes me really proud of Austin's artistic and musical heritage and just amount of culture.
As a freshman, I used to write music reviews for my friend's zine, and it was a great deal of fun. There's little better than finding that one song every once in a while that just energizes you, that you really identify with, or has some hook/beat that is incredibly catchy and fun.
Anyway, I'd like to share some bands with you guys and hopefully you all find a song or two by them that you like. I was actually what some people'd call a "hipster" back in the day haha, so there is a HUGE indie bias here.

I'm hoping to start a jam band or jam duo during med school when I have some rare free time, and it's going to be liberating. I'm also living my life on different terms now: instead of this "I hope I can.." it's "I'm going to" (that's supposed to sound determined) and I'll make it happen! We all have to seize the time we have here and make it really awesome. If you love naps as much as I do, that does fall under "living life to the fullest" too, because why not enjoy slowing down a bit and relaxing?
Anyway, I hope you guys have a listen and enjoy what you hear!
