I'm well into medical school and it's stressful, and I'll never feel caught up, but neither will my classmates. Just don't forget this, medical student or not:
1. Never snap or raise your voice to anyone, no matter how stressed out or tired you are.
2. Always say good morning to people, no matter how stressed out or exhausted you are.
3. Smile.
4. Help someone with things they drop, no matter if you have a test to go to in an hour, or can't remember some part of the brachial plexus.
5. Spend time with people you care about, even if you are reading or studying, keep each other company by being in the same spot.
6. Call your friends and loved ones, even if you are studying for a big exam, or working on a big project.
7. In the same vein, send people who are important to you e-mails, short notes, or whatever, during the week. They care about how you're doing, and think about you more often than you know.
8. Compliment or thank people for things they do, you never know if what you say turns their day around.
9. Share notes, listen, do whatever to make your classmates or workmates a little happier. Not only will you feel better, people will know you as someone always willing to help.
10. Enjoy every day, even if you spend it studying. I'm sure you'll do well in medical school, just focus on making it through, being positive, and giving it your best.
Thanks readers. I'll keep you updated on medical school. Til then, good luck, and never forget to make kindness a big part of your daily life, especially to those you love.
